Neighborhood Speed Awareness Program (NSAP)
The Neighborhood Speed Awareness Program (NSAP) is an educational program created for residents to help reduce speeding concerns within their neighborhoods. Community representatives such as Neighborhood Watch Groups, Homeowners' Association members, or citizen patrols are trained to monitor speeding using City-owned radar equipment. License plate numbers and speeds are recorded. The registered owner of the recorded vehicle may be sent warning letters signed by the traffic officer.

Safe Routes to School Program
The Safe Routes to School Program is a construction grant program designed to improve the bicycle and pedestrian safety of school age children. Projects must be located on public property. The State provides 90 percent and the City provides 10 percent of the project funding. The City's request for project funding from the State of California Safe Route to School Program has been approved for lighted crosswalks and flashing beacons located at both Acacia and Aspen Elementary Schools.
